Building on Success

A New, Full Service CII Campus in Watts

For nearly 110 years, Children’s Institute, Inc. (CII) has been at the forefront of the effort to provide services and support to children and families in Los Angeles’s most challenged communities.

Now, we are prepared to take the next great step in our evolution.

World-renowned architect Frank Gehry has completed the pro-bono design for our future Watts Campus and plans are underway to bring his vision to life for the children and families of Watts. CII has embarked on a historic $75 million comprehensive fundraising campaign, called Building on Success, to help us accomplish our goal of expanding services in Watts and across Los Angeles. This monumental effort is the largest and most extensive fundraising effort in CII’s history.

Learn more about the campaign below.

Watts Campus

When the new CII Watts Campus is open, it will enable CII to help thousands more children and youth achieve success in school, work, and life. And because it will be a Frank Gehry building, it will have the potential to be transformative for the community itself.  The new CII Watts Campus will be more than a place for services.  It will give children a reason to dream.

Building on Success Campaign

A Vision for the Future

The success and sustainability of CII’s work in Watts depends upon creating a safe and effective campus to house our programs and activities, as well as obtaining funding for the continued growth and development of services at the new campus and across Los Angeles County.

That’s why CII has embarked on a historic Comprehensive Campaign called Building on Success.

The $35 million Watts Campus capital project is the cornerstone of this larger $75 million comprehensive campaign.

An investment in the Building on Success Campaign will provide funding for clinical treatment, family support, early childhood and youth development programs for thousands of children and families in Watts. Support also will help maintain CII’s current programs and services across Los Angeles.
